My Current Dermalogica Skincare Favourites.

I feel like I have really gotten to know my skin over the past year. I know that sounds really bizarre: but for so long I suffered with horrific acne, scaring and didn't use anything on my skin other than prescription appointed drugs. I had a terrible relationship with my skin and often hid it under layers of makeup, even if I was staying in all day.

Last year I started working with the wonderful brand Dermalogica, not only was I given a large range of their products to try out but they offered me tones of guidance into the world of skincare.

I went from having no routine at all to have a five step routine every morning and evening, which sounds a lot and to me it was really daunting. After the first week of really setting myself a strict routine and building myself into this lifestyle: I really started to see the difference in my skin. After just one week of using the products not only did I see a difference in my skin but I barely saw what I was having to do morning and evening as a chore, it took very little of my time.

So for a full month I used their skincare and documented everything that happened: the highs, the lows, the breakouts and the end result. Read the blog here.

Now over a year on and I don't use their full routine every single day, I did for around six months and then started to branch out into new brands and products. I always went back to my favourite brand Dermalogica.

I don't need to use their five step programme anymore as my skin is way better, I don't feel the need to coat myself in makeup all the time and my skin has really thrived. So instead I have a selection of different products that I pick and choose each day, depending on how my skin is and what treatment it is in need of in that moment. For example I don't use cleansers and deep cleaning agents on days I didn't wear makeup, I let the natural oils stay on my face and use lighter products.

But there are three Dermalogica products that I have really been enjoying using lately, as I said I don't use them every day as I don't feel my skin requires this anymore. But they are fab and I really think you should know about them.

Redness Relief Essence

Venturing away from the products that I have used on my face. Body skincare was something I started exploring on my own: I knew that exfoliating and moisturising wasn't the only thing I could do to help my skin. After carrying two babies, the stretch marks and the stress my skin had been under, I needed something to help cool and sooth my body.

The Redness Relief Essence is a wonderful product that helps to relax your skin and reduce any red spots or areas that you may have. I love using this on my arms and legs, especially now that the weather is starting to brighten up. The perfect product to be introducing into your routine if you're planning on getting any body parts out this summer.

BioLumin-C Eye Serum

This one scared me so much when it was sent to me. I had no concept of what an eye serum was, what it did and how to use it. I also only ever pictured myself needed an eye serum when I turn sixty and have to combat the huge wrinkles.

However, this is a great product that I use 6/7 days in the week. As a pregnant mom to a toddler, it really helps to sooth my eyes and bring them back from the dead. A tiny drop is needed to cover the under eye area and it is so great.

The use of Vitamin C to the complex areas of the eye allows it to be brightened and firmed. I love using this on days where I wear no or minimal makeup as it brings my big black eye bags back to life without the use of heavy makeup products.

Skin Smoothing Cream

This is a product that every person should own. The moisturiser is fantastic for multiple uses: I use it on days where my skin is super dry, when its oily after using a face scrub and when I need an extra glow.

The lightweight cream is super hydrating and a little goes a really long way. It truly is one of those products that I could rant and rave about all day everyday because it is such a key part of my everyday. It is my top pick skincare product.

  6. The Skin Smoothing Cream is my favourite discovery from Dermalogica, I absolutely love it. I am using the Eye Serum and have been for a few months now. I think I am starting to see a difference, the area around my eyes does look brighter. It is not an instant results product but I do quite like it.
