What You Should Be Watching on TV Right Now

Do you, like me, spend hours upon hours scrolling through the TV trying to find something to watch? There seems to be so much on offer but knowing where to start and watch to invest your time into can be really difficult. On the weekends when Ru is with his dad, I have been trying to relax before the baby comes. This means a whole lot of Netflix and Boxsets.

I have built up a huge collection of amazing boxsets that you should be watching: from binge worthy girly crap all the way to the more serious documentaries. There is something here for everyone in every mood.

Love Is Blind

If you haven't watched this already then you must be really comfortable under that rock. Love Is Blind is a documentary/ experimental series on Netflix which follows the lives and relationships of singles as they take part in an experiment to find love.

The whole point of the programme is to see if you can really fall in love with someone without seeing their face, all done on personality. Without giving any spoilers, you follow the singleton's as they go through different steps to connect with another person and ultimately try and find love. Trying to see if you can fall for someone without looks coming into play, then seeing if the outside world and factors like living together, families and social media can affect that bond.

I have made it sound really serious, but it is a great programme to get sucked into. It is very interesting and lighthearted at the same time. It also happens to be what everyone is talking about right now, so you won't want to miss out.

Ru Paul's Drag Race

Throwing this all the way back to a Netflix boxset that has had a hold of my heart since I was in University. The programme is not only fun, lighthearted and entertaining but it is a huge celebration of everything life and love. In a world where everyone is moaning about Corona Virus, Trump is in Power and horrific things are happening: Take the time to indulge in a competition where Love is Love and people are happy to be themselves.

The show is a competition that goes through weekly tasks to find the next big Drag Queen, it is funny and will drag you in. Now on season 12, there is plenty for you to binge and new episodes each week.

The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez

This is going to be a total flip. If you're looking for something more serious to watch then this is what you're after.

The Documentary series follows the trial of the murder of an eight year old boy, killed and tortured by his mother and her boyfriend. It isn't for the faint hearted and is really difficult to watch. However, it is a really insightful and interesting documentary all about the failure of care, from his school to the social workers, surrounding a little boy.

The Crown

The Crown is a fantastic Drama that follows the life of the current reigning royal family. If you're a royalist, like myself, or not: it is a wonderful series that goes into the real life situations that they have faced. You get a great insight into the family and how living the royal life really effects their emotions, relationships and work.

If you're looking for something a little dramatic but easy to watch then I would suggest giving this a go.

If you haven't already watched this, then drop what you're doing now and watch it. Now on series two, the infatuating programme follows the life and mind of a serial killer and romantic. It will draw you in, keeping you gasping and guessing the whole way through. The boxset brings in a lot of realistic, modern elements of control, love and abuse in relationships. How one man can make someone believe they are falling for him all through the powerful medium of social media, stalking and manipulation.

The series is a must watch. It is one that requires a lot of attention so I recommend you lock everything away and either binge it or have an episode on every evening. Indulge and enjoy.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Okay, it's time for a little comedy. The TV comedy is both lighthearted and funny: following the lives of a police force in America. It is one to sit down and really enjoy or have on in the background whilst you get other things done. Following trials, cases, mysteries: whilst being fun and happy. Follow the characters in their jobs and personal lives.

  1. Great post! Some of my favourite shows here and a good mix of genres! x

  2. Thank you! I've added a few of these to my list. I've recently watched Love is Blind and it was so so good. Never felt so tense in my life with the weddings haha x
